After one too many cold winters in Northern Illinois, Roberta set her sights on sunny Florida.  With her extensive background in law, accounting, management and real estate investment, Florida's Gulf Coast seemed like the perfect place to put that expertise to work.  Thirteen years as a paralegal in the real estate and inheritance tax fields provided familiarity with more than just the sales side of the real estate transaction; it also gave her a strong education in the tax ramifications of real estate inheritance.  Another 13 years spent working with a public CPA corporation broadened her knowledge of the accounting and investment areas of real estate and small business financial statements and balance sheets.  Finally another 12 years spent as an accounting/office manager for a mid-sized company in the Chicago north shore suburbs provided great experience in management and improving customer service practices.

ABOUT KAREN W. STARR

Prior to settling in Florida in 1993, Karen enjoyed extensive travel worldwide and a wonderfully diverse real estate career encompassing residential, commercial and investment components. Her extensive real estate experience has included investment analysis and appraisal, leasing, real property administration and commercial property management at both the national and international levels. In the Washington, D.C. arena, she was an executive with a British property investment company and was the D.C. representative for a German investment group. That broad core of experience, together with a strong financial and marketing background, comes into play every day in meeting the diverse needs of the team's customers.  Karen earned a business degree from the University of Texas/El Paso. She is a Broker-Associate and holds CPM and RPA certifications.
